Is Kundalini yoga good for beginners?
Kundalini yoga is an intense practice, but both its physical and mental benefits make it an excellent option for both beginners and advanced yogis.
There are several science-backed benefits of Kundalini Yoga. According to research, it can help alleviate stress and anxiety, improve cognitive functioning and increase self-perception and self-esteem.
Kundalini means “coiled like a snake” in Sanskrit. Kundalini energy refers to the coiled energy at the base of the spine. When released, this energy moves from the base of the spine through the seven chakras (or energy centers) in the spine.
Specific meditation and breathing techniques were used to tap the Kundalini energy, and these practices were known as Laya yoga. This school of yoga was founded by Sage Gorakshnatha, a sage from Nepal.
The ancient practice of Laya yoga was secret and finds mention in classical Indian texts such as the Upanishads (dating back to 500 BCE). The secrecy of these practices was contested and finally was publicly taught in the West in 1969 by Yogi Bajan.
Kundalini yoga is a combination of specific Kriyas (yoga technique/practice) and meditation aimed at increasing Kundalini energy.
The practices also help prepare the practitioner physically and spiritually for the intensity of this energy. Each kundalini class begins with a chant and is followed by a warm-up of the spine.
The main part of the class are kriyas, which combine postures and breathing techniques and end with a meditation and a chant.
A typical Kundalini yoga class consists of three parts: an opening Mantra (known as “attunement”) followed by a set of movements designed to warm and open the spine, some Kriya postures (which is a sequence of postures associated with breathing techniques) and a concluding chanted Mantra/Meditation or song.

Kundalini yoga este o practica puternica in care se “observa” si aceasta observatie este interna. Cel mai important in Kundalini, pt a obtine o practica puternica este experienta. Experienta in Kundalini Kriya, in secventa, ceea ce simt in Inima mea, ceea ce simt ca energie. Observ ce se simte ca si energie unde misca.
Kundalini nu este despre cum arata postura in exterior, ci de cum se simte in interior.
Se va practica aproape toata clasa cu ochii semi-inchisi. Privirea la varful nasului sau al treilea ochi/ Ajna Chakra, care va creea un sentiment de calm, precum si simbolistica devotamentul tau fata de practica.
